How I’m celebrating Spring.
Just a little bucket list of all the ways I want to celebrate and enjoy the coming (and being) of Spring this year.
FOCUS ON RENEWAL, LIGHT AND NATURE.
These three are true Spring staples, and I’d love to borrow them for my own life. With that I mean taking this opportunity to refocus when it comes to what’s important to me, both personally and professionally, to try and let the more abundant natural light regulate my sleep pattern and energy levels, and to venture outside as much as possible, even if it means taking my to do list with me. In addition to that, I am looking forward to celebrating Earth Day by participating in Our Planet Week again. It’s something I look forward to every year, so I’m hoping to free up enough time in between commissions to illustrate a couple of lovely scenes guided by this year’s prompts.
LET THE SPRING BREEZE IN.
If only to get the cold and dry air (for which we’ll probably be grateful when Summer and its heatwaves come around) out of this house. Not ideal when you have two indoor cats that are enjoying two - and possibly three, soon - floors to run around in, let me tell you that. We need a safe game plan, that’s for certain, but I’m sure we’ll work something out soon.
SPRING ORGANISING.
Notice how I didn’t say spring cleaning? Yeah, that’s impossible in a house that still has so many other things on the to do list. Not that I don’t want the space clean, don’t get me wrong, but there’s hardly any use in cleaning an entire house when a lot of rooms still need a good (re-)organising session, so that they actually get used in the near future instead of just being there. I would love it, for example, if our basement finally becomes a creative and fun space to spend our time (it’s well on its way!), or for our home office to finally feel organised enough to optimally work in.
SET INTENTIONS.
Because the old ones need a bit of recalibrating, haha! By those I mean the more personal ones, of course, but to lighten the general mood around the daunting task of listing those up, I am adding ‘do some gardening’ to my intentions, as well. Nice and light, and not at all stressful. *eyes her nettle-ridden garden, but in a totally lovin’ way.
HAVE A SEASONAL FEAST AND ‘BONFIRE’.
Just to put some extra fire under the gardening part; I would LOVE to throw a garden party celebrating this season or the next. One where we stay out late, sitting around a cosy fire, you know? Not really typical for someone who generally loves Autumn and Winter more, but I blame moving to this lovely environment. It’s just so inviting!
Q || how will you be celebrating Spring?
Love, always.
