Kitten log #1: meet the kittens.

One whole week of these new housemates, so it’s high time I introduce them, don’t you think?

Jones(y).

Is the beautiful grey tabby of the two, named after Mick Jones of The Clash (yes, I have saluted both singers of my favourite band now), but I’ll allow the link with a certain iconic archeologist, as well. He’s a bit of a doofus, which I’m starting to think is pretty typical for male cats, and prone to knocking things over (mostly by accident). ‘Boundaries’ is not a word he’s familiar with, which more often than not gets him out of Strummer’s good graces. But don’t worry, the purring motor hidden somewhere in that cute little body of his more than makes up for it. Even with his brand new, big brother.

Sorsha.

And then there’s beautiful, fierce little black and white Sorsha, named after a true warrior princess played by Joanne Whalley, from one of my favourite eighties films. As fearless as her movie counterpart, she was the first to charm Strummer and loves following him around everywhere. She’s a real talker, as well, which would have made Leia proud. When it comes to exploring her new home, she takes the crown. Same goes for nibbling on every plant she encounters, however, which is something we’ll have to work on because I’m quite fond of those, too. No matter how innocently and wide-eyed you look at me, Sorsh.

Both of these kittens were adopted through a local shelter, which is a cause I find very important. Adopt, don’t shop. And try to always get two, especially if you don’t already have a cat. It’s better for all parties involved, trust me.

Stay tuned for more kitten logs, because I plan to tell you eeeeverything about the introduction to Strummer and their new home, and I can’t wait to bombard you with tons of pictures, as one does. In fact, let’s throw in two more:

Love, always.
