Ten things I want to do in September.

The stuff I want to get done this month. And, boy, is it going to be a busy one!

TAKE IT OUTSIDE.

My running habit, which was down-sized a bit due the hot weather the last couple of weeks, is finally back in full swing, and I want to one-up it even more by occasionally leaving my treadmill where it is (under my sofa, haha) and heading back outside instead. I’m actually pretty curious if I’ll run even better because of the change of scenery, or if it’ll be the other way around.

FINISH MY CURRENT READ AND START TICKING OFF MY AUTUMN READING LIST.

Well, I have to make one first, but since Autumn is officially still a couple of weeks away AND I’ve got a ways to go in Psyche and Eros by Luna MnNamara, I’ve got plenty of time left. There’s one thing that’s already certain, though, and that’s the ‘no new books!’ rule. There’s enough Autumn classics and unread books on my shelves, as it is. They’ll be perfect for filling up the list I created for my Patrons (and myself, teehee).

CREATE AN AUTUMN LOOKBOOK.

I’m sorry, but Autumn/Winter fashion trumps everything else, easy. I can’t wait to put on my favourite sweaters again, and start experimenting with everything I have in my wardrobe. Now that I’ve moved said wardrobe in its entirety to my bedroom again '(bye-bye, capsule, it’s been great but also; it hasn’t, haha!), I once again have a better idea of every piece I have, and I’m currently roaming Pinterest in search of new ways to combine them into some great new outfits. I’ll make sure to share some results on here, no worries. ;-)

FINISH UP ON MY AUTUMN/HALLOWEEN COLLECTION AND PUT IN SOME ORDERS.

I can’t wait so show you everything that’s been cooking up inside my brain for the new season, but I’ve still got a ton of work to do if I want to put in my final orders before the first real days of Autumn. It’s coming along nicely, though, and I’m really enjoying all this desk-time, lately. Especially when one’s already started on the next want-to-do item…

FILL MY DAYS WITH AUTUMN-Y FILMS AND TV SERIES.

Yup, I’ve already started the annual Gilmore Girls rewatch, and am currently compiling a new Letterboxd list of Autumn favourites. The hardest thing about such lists, by the way, is choosing which ones you immediately want to watch (every single one of them), and which ones you want to save up for later because they are the best of the best (also every single one of them). Anyone else have that problem or am I just weird?

BAKE SOMETHING.

I’m usually not much of a baker (I do NOT have the patience for it), but if there’s one specific time of year during which I’m strangely pulled towards the oven, it’s now. Once again, I’m having a hard time choosing a recipe, partly because I know it’ll probably be a one-off because of that lack of patience. I’m guessing it’ll involve pumpkin, though!

GO ON A COUPLE OF OUTINGS.

As you know, I still have a couple of weeks off coming up, and I’m hoping to go on a couple of day trips during those. From a long-awaited, off-season return to Pairi Daiza, to cosy shopping trips and a weekend away with the family: just… bring it, already!

GET INTO A NEW AND BETTER EVENING/SLEEP ROUTINE.

I feel like this is just always on my list at the end of Summer, because that season tends to screw up my routine SO badly. Call me crazy, but I actually prefer the earlier dark hours. One, because it almost forces me to slow down in time to get a good night’s sleep, and it gets us, humans (yes, you too!), into a more natural, healthier routine. Secondly, the temperature in my bedroom is going back to actually-liveable, and lastly: those mosquitos will hopefully disappear soon. So I'm genuinely asking: why would you not? Team normal daylight hours, right here, don’t even @ me.

KNIT A SCARF.

Could you BE any more cliché Autumn girly? It’s just that I’ve had all this wool lying around for YEARS, and I’m decluttering, okay?

DECORATE MY APARTMENT.

It’s a bit too early to unbox my entire Halloween collection, but I think a couple of pinecones and pretty branches here and there are totally already in order, don’t you? Looking up some cool new DIY ideas, as we speak!

q || how are you filling up your Septembers?

Lots of love, always.
